Winners will be announced at the National Book Federation's November 17 awards ceremony and dinner.
2010 is the 61st annual presentation of the National Book Awards. Historically, only publishers can submit books published in the previous year for consideration. At the moment, that leaves out the new breed of authors self-publishing to Amazon and other digital publishing sites.
