Here's the set-up for Faustine (Bonfire Chronicles Book One) :

Trust no one -- that may be Faustine's most important takeaway from Bonfire Academy, but there was never any doubt we could trust Portal Chronicles author Imogen Rose to serve up another pitch-perfect series! --Steve Windwalker, Kindle Nation Daily

Who is Faustine? When Faustine Spencer was five years old, she discovered a secret that changed her life forever. At twelve, her parents sent her to Bonfire Academy in Switzerland to ensure that she received the training needed to control her increasing powers.

Three years later, Faustine returns to Manhattan. All she wants is to be a typical teenager, or at least, one that's part of the in-crowd at her Upper East Side High School. When drop-dead gorgeous Ryker, her long-time crush from the Academy, finally notices her, she couldn't be happier.

However, her desire for a normal life is shattered when her father, a prominent sovereign, disappears after naming her as his successor. Her siblings begin to disappear, and Faustine finds herself in the midst of a power struggle.

With her life in danger, Faustine must learn to follow one of Bonfire Academy's most important rules: Trust no one.

About the Author:

Imogen Rose is the author of the bestselling YA series, the Portal Chronicles. She was born in a small town in Sweden and moved to London in her twenties. After obtaining a PhD in immunology from Imperial College, she moved with her family to New Jersey, where she's been based for the past ten years.

For as long as she can remember, Imogen has dreamt stories. Stories that continued from night to night, from dream to dream. So, even as a child, going to bed was never an issue, just an anticipation of the story to come.

Portal, Imogen's first novel, would have remained in her imagination, to be shared only with her daughter, Lauren, had her eight-year-old not insisted that she write it down. In the course of a month, Imogen typed while Lauren waited eagerly by the printer for the pages to appear, and a novel took shape.

The warm reception Portal received encouraged her to continue with the story and the Portal Chronicles. Book two (Equilibrium and book three (Quantum) are now available. Book four, Momentum, will be available this summer. Faustine is Imogen's first book in her new series, the Bonfire Chronicles.

Imogen is a self-confessed Hermès addict who enjoys shopping, traveling, watching movies and playing with her dog, Tallulah.

From Reviewers:

Faustine is an action packed paranormal mystery. I don't want to give away the plot but it is fast paced with the twists, turns and OMG moments that I have come to expect and love from Ms. Rose. I found the characters and relationships to be very believable despite the fact that most of the characters are paranormal beings.

..,..it's nice to settle in for the night with a nice familiar author; an author I KNOW can write an entertaining and captivating story; so when the opportunity presented itself to read "Faustine" the first book in the "Bonfire Chronicles" by the lovely Imogen Rose, I jumped at the chance to get my grubby little paws on it. I have never been shy with my adoration of Rose's ability to connect with her readers through her work, so my continued appreciation for her new venture should come as no surprise.

An absolute hit is on Imogen Rose's hands with Faustine, a 15-year-old who, as the tale opens, has returned home from Bonfire Academy. At this Swiss boarding school -- a school that encourages silence and feeding -- she learns to control her paranormal abilities. A few days after her return, she learns her father -- the Demon King of London -- has been kidnapped.

I think Imogen really captured the spirit of the average teen perfectly. I like that Faustine had normal issues to struggle with, some of them embarrassing, in addition to her new responsibilities. Her character really grew throughout this novel. The supporting characters in this book were also great.

Read a free sample of our eBook of the Day, Class Collision: Fall From Grace , by Annette Mackey, without leaving your browser!

Here's the set-up for Class Collision:  Fall From Grace, by Annette Mackey:

What if you didn’t know your boyfriend was worth millions

Born to wealth and privilege, ten-year-old David, arguably the most spoiled, obnoxious kid alive, finds his greatest enjoyment tormenting the maid. That is... until he is kidnapped for ransom and left for dead.

Thrown into a world he knows nothing about, he spends the next several years in an orphanage where his claims to fame and fortune only fuel years of torment. Finally, he escapes, hoping to make it back home.

Instead, he meets Linda. Having lived among boys for so long, he doesn’t know how to handle his feelings for her. She is both irritating and intoxicating. Not that it matters. With looks like hers, every boy in the county is chasing her, and David, with his scraggly clothes and long hair doesn’t stand a chance. Then, when circumstances push them together, they both find that sometimes, people aren’t always what they seem.

Set during the Great Depression, Class Collision: Fall From Grace will transport you to a simpler time, filled with heartache and unexpected love.

The Reviewers Said:

The book is obviously written to a younger audience, and I am in my 80's. Nevertheless, I found that it held my attention. I loved the setting in the Depression era. That's when I grew up so that part of it was endearing to me.  I look forward to the sequel with great anticipation.--Margaret Williams.

I was so OBSESSED with this book and absolutely loved it!!!!!! Ms. Mackey brillantly plotted this book and I was up to the wee hours of the night because I couldn't put it dow

.....was caught up with the characters of this story within the first few pages. The intensity of the personalities of each character grew with the turn of each page. I found myself reading at a fast pace so I could be involved with the next experience that would surface.

The story line became an emotion. I felt, angry, joy, saddness, despair, excitement, hate, fear, happiness, sympathy, and so many other feelings. The characters become family and I wanted the best for them.

Satisfying teen romance novel with a bit of history!  I absolutely adored this book. The relationships between each character are really strong. Linda and Davids romance was my favorite part of the book,it left me wanting more, to find out what happens next. I can't wait for the next book in this exciting new series!

Fates can have fun with us all. "Class Collision" is a unique love story of Linda and David...........a fun read with a bit of fable thrown in.

To call Class Collision and romance novel is the same as calling Jodi Picoult's work chic-lit. It's far more than just a good love story.....unforgettable characters who come to life on the page through their complex emotions and growth throughout the book.

Class Collision:  Phoenix Rising continues where Fall From Grace leaves off.  Most reviewers said they couldn't wait for the conclusion, which is now available in the Kindle Store.

From the Author's web site:

I love to write. Whether it’s music or stories, I’ve never been bored because my brain is always working a mile a minute. There is so little time to get everything done! If only I could write as fast as I think.

I love being a Mom. There are times when you want to pull your hair out, but nothing compares to the absolute unity of a family.

Though I might search the world over, my favorite people will always be the ones with whom I have shared a roof, past or present. Kids are loyal and strong. If only I could learn to be a kid again.
