If, like me, you've been vexed by the fact that the iPad's dock accessory forces you to view (and type on) the iPad display in portrait rather than landscape orientation, here's some good news.
An excellent blogger at bookofjoe has come up with a pretty straightforward fix that involves no hacking, warranty compliance issues, or screwdrivers (conventional, Philips, or liquid).
Instead, the workaround simply involves the introduction of a 30-pin dock extender cable, pictured at the left. Here's a link to the instructions at bookofjoe, and here's a link to the dock extender cable for $14.95 at Amazon.
